The VNA Hospice of NWI is a constellation of services with the purpose to help individuals remain as independent and in control of their health care and life choices for as long as possible. We believe in aging with dignity and respect, and that no matter which service line a person engages with the VNA that they will be treated with our Angel Standard of care.

Palliative Care
Specialized form of medical care, comfort, and coordination for any person living with any stage of a serious illness. Our accredited care helps address the complex physical, psychological, social and spiritual challenges that often accompany advanced illness, while retaining independence and choice.

VNA Meals on Wheels
Helps seniors and individuals with disabilities remain independent by providing a hot, nutritious meal and a wellness check. Meals are delivered Monday – Friday and can be tailored to special diets to reduce hospitalizations and manage chronic health conditions.

Medical Guardian
Help button is a vital tool to help seniors stay in their homes and independent for as long as possible. Providing fall detection and assistance at the press of a button 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the button comes in a variety of options to meet each individual’s specific needs.

Phoenix Center for Grief
For adults and children who’ve experienced the death of a loved one. We offer resources and facilitated support groups to help individuals foster connections, build a support system, and move through the grieving process together.

We Honor Veterans
Recognizes the unique needs of our veterans and their families. Through making connections and compassionate understanding, we guide Veterans through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.
Non-profit hospices provide patients with 10 percent more nursing visits, 35 percent more social worker visits, and twice as many therapy visits versus for-profit hospices.
History of Community Service
VNA Hospice NWI was one of the pioneers of home hospice in the 80s and established the first hospice center in Indiana. Across the nation, nonprofits have led the way in caring for families by creating the model of hospice care. We continue to lead the way today with not-for-profit hospice care, community education, leadership, and advocacy for the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Community Care Contributions

Tricia's Scholarship
As healthcare leaders in Northwest Indiana, it is our privilege and responsibility to support those who will be the future of healthcare in our community. VNA Hospice NWI offers Tricia's Scholarship, in memory of Tricia Marie Simpson Russell, RN, to NWI residents to assist nurses or students who wish to advance their nursing education.
