VNA Hospice NWI believes that providing grief support offers individuals the opportunity to connect, receive emotional support, validation, and education about grief and loss in a confidential and peer supported environment.
Phoenix Center for Grief offerings
- Walking Together Through Grief - a six-week, cohort style series for adults that combines education with open discussion on grief and loss, finding coping strategies, and more.
- Phoenix Rising - provides specialized peer-based activity groups for children, teens, young adults, and their families, based on the internationally acclaimed Dougy Center model and membership in the National Alliance for Children’s Grief. Through a variety of fun and age-appropriate activities, specially trained staff and volunteers help youth and families connect, learn and practice coping skills, express their feelings, and tell their stories.
- First Friday Club - coffee, cookies, and grief sharing.
- Memorial services and remembrance events.
- Referrals to partner agencies for additional support
